ALLY KAHASHY
I’m a multimedia storyteller and filmmaker based in Goma, D.R. Congo. I help communities, organizations, and brands across Africa bring their stories to life by creating impactful documentaries, photography, and podcasts that inspire, inform, and challenge global perceptions.
Co-founder of Nyiragongo Ngoma Production (NNP-DRC) My work and my team is deeply rooted in the belief that storytelling has the power to transform narratives. I focus particularly on the North Kivu region and the wider Congo, capturing the strength, creativity, and resilience of everyday people whose voices are often overlooked. Through cinematic visuals and intentional narratives, I strive to reshape how the world sees the DRC — not through a lens of despair, but of potential, richness, and humanity.
With a strong background in audio-visual production, digital media, and visual communication, I’ve collaborated with local creatives, NGOs, and global partners to document real stories that matter. My technical toolkit includes photography, video production, editing, and storytelling across multiple platforms.
Currently, I’m expanding my work across East Africa — producing content, connecting with new collaborators, and seeking freelance gigs that align with my mission: to tell authentic African stories with beauty, power, and purpose.
